Jula Bell is an artist from Los Angeles, California, USA.

A singer, bassist, autoharpist, poet, activist, and writer, she has been part of the LA punk scene since the 1980s. She is also known for her work in film, television, and video production, notably as an art department coordinator for David Lynch’s series Twin Peaks. She is the voice behind Devo’s Girl U Want on the soundtrack of the film Tank Girl.

Jula has performed with several bands, including Bulimia Banquet, Bobsled, Marc Spitz Freestyle, Nip Drivers, and Miss Derringer. She was also a member of The Fags, Minions of Parody, and Cactus Dick. With Bulimia Banquet, she released two albums and became an inspiration for the Riot Grrrl movement.

She has written numerous articles for the music and art magazine Fizz, and also launched her comic strip column Jula’s Word.

Jula is one of the founding members of the Political Alliance for Bohemian Women and of the punk music event Punx of the Round Keg. A black belt in Kenpo Jitsu Ryu, she currently lives in California with her husband and stepdaughter.
